Hear the infestation before the tree shows it

In date palms, red palm weevil larvae feed deep inside the trunk for weeks — long before any visible symptom. Aures listens to the acoustic signature of that hidden activity and flags affected trees while treatment still works.

THE PROBLEM

By the time you can see it, the tree is already lost

Red palm weevil does its damage out of sight. By the time the crown wilts or the trunk collapses, the infestation has been active for months and has often spread to neighboring palms.

Hidden infestation

Larvae feed deep inside the trunk where nothing can be seen from the outside. Visual and manual checks miss them for weeks.

Late visible symptoms

Wilting fronds, oozing holes and a hollow trunk only appear once the colony is large — far too late to save the tree.

Silent spread

One untreated palm becomes a source. Weevils move to adjacent trees, turning a single missed case into a plantation-wide problem.

ACOUSTIC DETECTION

We listen to what is chewing inside the trunk

Feeding larvae produce faint, repetitive sounds with a distinct acoustic signature. A small sensor on the trunk captures it; our models separate it from wind, traffic and handling noise, then score the likelihood of an active infestation.

Capture

A low-power sensor on the trunk streams continuous audio from inside the palm.

Recognize

Models match the feeding signature against the environment, rejecting ambient noise.

Flag

Trees that cross a confidence threshold are flagged for targeted inspection.

HOW A PILOT WORKS

From a single block to a working early-warning system

01

Survey the block

We map a representative section of the plantation and fit trunk sensors on selected palms.

02

Listen & calibrate

Sensors stream continuous audio while we calibrate the models to your site’s background noise.

03

Detect & flag

Each tree is scored and likely infestations are flagged for your team to inspect and confirm.

04

Act & review

Flagged palms are treated early, and confirmed outcomes feed back to sharpen detection over time.
